You're not too much. You're an Outlier.
This page is for the dreamers, the rebels, the weirdos, and the ones who’ve never quite fit into society's neat little boxes. If you've landed here, there's a good chance you're one of them. And just so we're clear - that’s a good thing!
At Pop Your Career, I work with people who have been told they're too loud, too quiet, too sensitive, too intense, too weird, too emotional, too ambitious, too colourful, too analytical, too introverted, too extroverted, too soft, too radical, too much. (Sound familiar?)
These are the folks I call "The Outliers".
They’re the ones who colour dramatically outside the lines or carefully inside them because it gives them full body tingles - not because they're supposed to.
Who are the Outliers?
There’s no checklist to tick off, but outliers often include:
- Neurodivergent individuals (Autistic, ADHD, gifted, dyslexic, etc.)
- Members of the LGBTIQ+ community
- Disabled and chronically ill people
- People with diverse cultural or racial backgrounds
- Survivors of trauma or adversity
- Gender-diverse, femme, and androgynous folks
- Creatives, deep thinkers, and multi-passionates
- People who’ve felt like square pegs in round holes
- Those who question the status quo
- People with "too many" feelings or "too big" ideas
If you’ve ever been called "too much", or felt like you're on the outside looking in, you're probably one of us.
Why the Outliers matter to me
Because I am one. And because I know what it’s like to navigate a world that wasn’t built with you in mind.
Outliers often face unique challenges in their careers. Trying to squeeze themselves into systems, workplaces, or expectations that don’t fit. They're told to tone it down, suck it up, or fall in line. But what if the problem isn’t you... it’s the box?
Helping outliers find work that works for them isn’t just my job; it’s my mission. I believe your quirks, your differences, your edges, can be your superpowers. But I also know they can be heavy, messy and exhausting. Being neurodivergent, disabled, queer, or otherwise outside the norm can come with real challenges. You may have felt isolated, unsupported, or like you’ve had to hide parts of yourself just to get by.
That’s why I’m here. Not to sugar-coat the struggle, but to help you find a career that honours all of who you are. One where you don’t have to shrink, mask, or compromise your identity to succeed.
This work is personal. And it’s powerful.
Not sure if you’re an Outlier?
That’s okay! Honestly, it’s more of a *vibe* than a label.
Have you ever felt like you don’t quite fit? Like you’re seeing the world through a slightly different lens? Maybe you've experienced adversity or spent your life trying to shrink yourself to fit someone else’s idea of "normal".
If any of that rings true — you’re probably right where you’re meant to be.
