If you need a killer job application and you don't have the time or inclination to prepare it yourself, you're in the right place. I've worked with hundreds of clients over the past ten years, to prepare resumes, cover letters and selection criteria that have helped them win their dream jobs and progress in their careers. If you want to be another success story, check out my services below by clicking on the tabs. If you still have questions or want to talk more about your specific project, please feel free to reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can schedule a free 15 minute consult, so that we can chat about your needs and see if we are a good fit.
In 2018, resumes look a lot different than they did 10 years ago. A quick search on Pinterest and you'll find thousands of images of beautifully styled resumes, with pops of colour to help you stand out from the crowd.
Now, I am all for designing your resume in a way that helps you differentiate yourself from the competition, but that's not to say we should forget about the content - after all, your skills, experience, knowledge and personal attributes are the things that will help you win the role.
When we work together to create a resume, I am focusing on balancing the elements of content and design, to bring together a resume that you are proud to send out to potential employers. Some people may poo-poo the need for sharp presentation, but I am far from convinced. As a long-term professional recruiter and HR manager, I can confidently tell you this:
The content in your resume is King. But if you organise your content well, it shows that you have pride, confidence,
creativity and passion. It is much like polishing your shoes before you go to an interview. It won't
necessarily win you the job, but it could definitely earn you some brownie points.
If you are applying for jobs and not attaching a well-thought-out, tailored cover letter, you are missing a huge opportunity to pitch yourself as the most suitable candidate for the job. There's no doubt about it. A cover letter is an essential part of your job application arsenal and it is arguably as important as your resume.
Although cover letters don't require as much design as a resume, preparing a cover letter that directly aligns with the role you're applying for is a bit of an art-form. I'm all for tailoring your cover letter to ensure it matches the language of the advertisement and tells your story in a way that will mean potential employers won't be able to resist inviting you for an interview.
I have two pricing options for my resumes as you'll see below. Want to add a cover letter to your resume?
No worries. Purchase a package and save a total of $69 AUD!
There is a bit of a knack to writing a response to selection criteria and if you aren't sure how to put your experience into words, I don't blame you. It can be incredibly tricky. Luckily, I have years and years of experience writing selection criteria responses for clients, and I am confident in framing your career achievements in a way that will impress potential employers.
When it comes to selection criteria responses, I do prefer to quote on a case by case basis, as they usually vary so much from role to role and employer to employer. I have included a price guide below, but if you are interested in engaging me to write a selection criteria response, please email the position description (including selection criteria) to me at email@example.com and I will respond with a firm price.
Thanks Bec - You are a star!!!
What a woman you are. This has really taken the pressure off me this week and for that I am extremely grateful 🙂
Application submitted and invoice paid.
Have a fabulous Sunday afternoon!
I received Bec's business card from a friend of mine. If a friend asked me what it was like to work with Bec, I will give them Bec's business card that was given to me by my friend. The card that is a gift that keeps on giving. I contacted Bec to get a review of my resume. We organised a time to meet and the insights that I received from Bec in our face to face discussion was very valuable. She drafted me a new resume and I was surprise at the creativity in the way she organised a well structured resume.
To call Bec a career coach does not encapsulate the service that she provided. I felt like I was speaking to a mentor who understands not just surface issues but also at the human level.
