6 Reasons To Sign Up for The Career Clarity Quest

What is The Career Clarity Quest? 

I developed The Career Clarity Quest after years of watching my clients struggle to articulate their strengths. What I have found is that so many of my clients go to work each day without fully comprehending the impact they make (or can make) through their career. The result is a feeling of apathy.  Wake up, go to work, come home, eat, sleep, repeat. I know this feeling. I have experienced it in my own career.

The Career Clarity Quest is a free, 7-day email course that guides you through a process of getting to know yourself better. Particularly in the context of your career. Over a period of a week, we hook into your emotions, dreams, energy levels, motivators, strengths, behavioural preferences, purpose, vision and values, with the aim of discovering more about your ideal career path. Yep – we cover all that content and all it takes is between 15 minutes and half an hour each day!

So, why should I join the career clarity quest? 

If I haven’t convinced you to sign up yet, that’s cool. I like it when you play hard to get. Let’s walk through some of my favourite reasons that you should join the quest:

1. It is time to get clear about your career

If you are just going through the motions and turning up to work each day to collect your pay cheque, this is neither challenging or rewarding. If you are happy with this process, I’ll be honest, The Career Clarity Quest is not for you.

But if you are craving more from your career and you feel a strong desire to feel fulfilled by the work you do, then step right up. The Career Clarity Quest will help you to define what that actually looks like.

2. We are chucking the cookie cutter and developing a strategy that is just for you 

Would you rather a prescriptive program that tells you what career paths are suited to your Myers Briggs profile, or would you prefer to do the work, choose your own adventure and actively decide how you want your career to pan out?

According to Myers Briggs, I am an INFJ, which, if you listen to Google, means that I should be a counsellor, psychologist, social worker, clergy or speech pathologist. The thing is, I don’t want to do those things.  Sure, personality tests are there to provide us with a guide (and I love doing them!) but I don’t believe in a cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all career plan. And neither should you.

3. We are taking real action towards your fulfilling career

Imagine you are at your 2018 staff Christmas party. You’re celebrating all of the goals you have kicked in the last 12 months after gaining clarity in your career – you’ve taken no prisoners and you know that you are exactly where you are supposed to be.

Guess what. If you don’t put in the effort now, chances are, your future won’t be so exciting. You’ll probably be at that Christmas party wishing you had have taken some action to avoid your seemingly inevitable fate of feeling unfulfilled by your work. Next minute you’ll be 80, wondering what could have been…

4. You will learn to pivot and shift but not necessarily change

The Career Clarity Quest is in no shape or form, designed to convince you to change jobs. No, no. That’s not how I work. I believe that most of us have the option and the ability to make small changes to our situations. Small changes that have a big impact. Think about it like opening a curtain on a beautiful sunny day. Not a hard thing to do, but a little sunlight makes all the difference.

Don’t get me wrong, if your job is making you miserable, it might be time to leave, but I am a huge advocate of trying to make things work before you jump; a small shift in your work tasks, professional relationships or mindset, could be all you need to take your job from “nay” to “yay”!

5. You have nothing to lose 

Well, almost nothing. The Career Clarity Quest is completely free.  Although I may mention some of my offerings throughout the course in case you want to dive a little deeper, there is absolutely no obligation and this definitely isn’t a hard-core pitch fest. That’s just not how I roll.

What you will have to invest is a little time each day, to work through the material and answer some thought-provoking questions about your career. I have aimed to keep each of the lessons to about 15 minutes; everyone can find an extra 15 minutes in their day. Especially if it has such a great long-term benefit.
